That is an old Afghan proverb that was recently related to me. The inference is that when one group (or person) get something that they need, an entirely different group who does not have that same need (but is envious) demands that they receive it also. I thought that this was a good commentary on what is happening to America. Lots of divergent groups of people, ethic, social, religious, etc are receiving aid in one way or the other.
Americans should go back to John Kennedy’s Inaugural Speech and consider what he meant when he said “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”.
